" Love Can Not Be Bought "
Dear Friends and Family,
I would like to share with you a few thoughts on the Christmas season we are in.
This is the time of year for giving to others. Our minds are more on the thoughts of what am I going to buy for my Wife, Husband, Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, and the list goes on, and on, and on.
You say to yourself “this year things are going to be different”, but yet how do I cut my list down? Who can I not buy for? Or how much less can I spend on gifts. Oh! And don’t forget all those Christmas Cards, and with the price of the card and stamps getting more and more expensive. You’re about to go out of your mind and pull out all the remaining hair that you didn’t pull out last year.
Some how you’re going to have to pull yourself together, take a deep breath, and regain your composure. Stop and ask yourself what is driving me to feel guilty if I don’t spend as much as you did last year? Or why am I thinking that people will think less of me if I don’t buy them a big elaborate gift? Or maybe you’re thinking that my loved ones won’t love me as much?
Well, you can just stop thinking those thoughts, because they are just thoughts and not reality.
Love cannot be bought; it has to be given from your heart freely with no strings attached.
The best gift that anyone can give is his or her gift of Love, one to another. Not expecting anything in return except their love toward you. That’s all that really matters, that we love one another.
God Loved you so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ. And Jesus loved you so much that He forgives all the sins of those who ask Him, and will give you the gift of eternal life.
Now that’s what really matters. Jesus truly Loves you and cares for you and the only gift He expects from you is your unconditional Love in return toward Him.
May you always remember Jesus is the Reason (the only Reason) for the Season.
